Midweek Magnolias-Challenge #139 "Shabby Chic or Vintage"

Good Wednesday morning dear crafty friends!!

I hope that everyone had a restful weekend...we enjoyed a long weekend here in Canada and it was a gloriously sunny and hot weekend to boot!!

Okay onto to today's post!

Today at Midweek Magnolias we begin a brand new challenge...as always Magnolia Sweden is our wonderful sponsor!!!  Our challenge theme for the next two weeks is a super easy one...for me anyways (only because I love adding all those fabulous "shabby" goodies)...it's "Shabby Chic or Vintage!!

I had to make a birthday card for my bestest friend in the world...Dianne...so I went with her favourite colours and because she loves working in her  garden...an appropriately themed Tilda!!

Here is what I came up with...

framed with one of my faves ...lace/rhinestones...
tucked under there somewhere...lol...is some crocheted fringed lace...

the flowers are made with dies from the Magnolia Vintage Box #1 and Magnolia DP layered with pale pink cardstock and cheesecloth...
leaves and butterfly are also from the MVB #1...

Midway Reminder at Midweek Magnolias-Challenge #138 "Anything Goes with a Magnolia Image"

then I added some cheesecloth distressed with Rangers Distress Ink "Tattered Rose"...

Midway Reminder at Simply Magnolia-"Flowers"

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #219-"You Are My Sunshine"

Good Monday morning dear Mousey friends!!

I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend and for those of you  celebrating Mother's Day I hope that your day was wonderful in every way!!

Today at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge we begin a new challenge..."You Are My Sunshine"... our hostess for the next two weeks is our wonderful and talented Sue Kment!!  As always you have the option of "Anything Goes"!!!

I couldn't get  the song "You Are my Sunshine" out of my head so when I was looking through my DP papers I came across this paper with music notes on it and thought "Hmm this would work"!  I also had another DP in mind that reminded me of sunshine so combined the two and this cute HH image!

Midway Reminder at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia Challenge #133-"Summer"

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers out there celebrating our day today!!

I hope that you're all being spoiled or at least not toiling over housework or cooking...lol!!

Today at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia it's team Sweet Magnolia's turn to show you our "Summer" projects!!  We are so happy to have Live and Love Crafts as our wonderful sponsor...thank you Sandy for your generousity!!

I did a couple of these flip flop hangers a while ago but didn't finish one...I found it while cleaning out my craft room (which is still on going...YIKES) and thought "Perfect for our current LHOSM challenge"...I just had to choose a Tilda...colour her up and add some embellies!!!

Here is what I came up with...

the wooden flip flop form is from Michaels...

I sponged on paint, added some Aged Taupe Frantage for the sand at the bottom, then added some tiny shells to finish it off...

the hanger part is a combination of raffia, Shabby Seam Binding, ribbon, tulle and the beach party sign...

finished off with this cute fish charm...

 this sweet little Tilda is from the Sea Breeze 2013 collection...

accented with Glamour Dust and Glossy Accents on the water at Tilda's feet...

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #163-"Birthdays"

Good Friday morning dear blogging friends!!

Well we are now into May and it seems that MAYBE we will finally get SPRING!!! 

Today at Fussy and Fancy we are celebrating "Birthdays" with out talented hostess Sasha!!  Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is Live and Love Crafts!  Sandy has offered a gift voucher for one lucky winner!

So with Spring in mind...Spring cleaning to be exact...I've been going through my craft room...I have SO much stuff that when I'm looking for something in particular I can never find it...LOL (I have to laugh...the alternative being crying)!!  So some purging and organizing is in order...I've been giving a lot away to friends and their crafty children!! 

Okay so the point of that ramble was that I came upon these Wellington Bear...by DO CRAFT...papers/toppers and stamps.  Now I'm not a huge topper user so I thought that I'd give it a whirl...how fun...decorating without the colouring!!

Here is what I came up with...

I used this cute little guy sitting by a wonderfully flower enhanced lazy stream...

added some ribbon, lace, pearls, stick pin, flowers of coarse, some natural fibers and  a couple of sentiments...

VOILA...done!!...

 

I sure don't know why I haven't used these toppers before cause it sure worked up quickly and the image is simply darling!!  Now I know that my talented Fussy and Fancy Sisters have some beautiful "Birthday" creations to show you so won't you please pay them a visit??!!
