Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #122-"Anything Goes w/Option Summer"

Hello dear blogging friends!

I sure hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful weekend full of family and/or friends!!

Today we begin a brand new challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society...this time we'd love to see something about "Summer" or as always you have the option of "Anything Goes"!  I chose to work with this little cutie from Sherri Baldy!

My oldest grandson turns 5 at the end of August and I thought that this image was perfect for him...I can just picture Mr. Q (that's Quinn my grandson) walking along a beach sporting this cool funky hair cut...LOL!!!!

Here is what I came up with...

I went with a simple 6X6 card...
DP is from my stash...I thought the sand/footprints would go well with this image...

this darling Sherri Baldy image is Image 570...
coloured with my copics...

I mounted the heart and Q tile on some skeleton leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts...

sentiment was computer generated...

And that is Mr. Q's birthday card!!

Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #121- "Monochrome"

Hello dear blogging friends!!

How was everyone's weekend??

Today we begin a brand new challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society...our theme is "Anything Goes with Option of Monochrome"...so come on over and join us for your chance to win a prize from the fabulous Sherri Baldy!!

I chose to go with lovely purples/mauves!!

coloured with my copics...

chiffon/shabby seam binding bow is decorated with a lovely purple flower from Noor Design...

"sweet pea" from Stampingbella was stamped on mauve chiffon ribbon using Stazon...

these lovely flowers are also from Noor Design...

I used punches to create this "lolli-pop"...

EK Success border punches, Marvy circle punches and the butterfly is also from EK Success...
bow is decorated with wooden bark heart/satin ribbon/pearl and stamens...

this little sweetie is from the new collection "I Believe in Unicorns" as is the sentiment...

Marvelous Magnolia-July Challenge "Summer"

Happy 150th Birthday Canada!!!

To all my fellow Canadians...I'd like to wish you all a most wonderful Canada Day as we celebrate our nations 150th Birthday...I hope that you all have special plans with family and/or friends!!

Well for me July 1st always seems like the real beginning of summer...even though that officially happens in June!!  The kids are finished school...the holidays begin...hopefully we get some sunshine...which we've been sorely lacking of late!!!!!

Today at Marvelous Magnolia we begin our new challenge and that is...YES...you guessed it..."Summer"!  When I think of summer I also think of strawberries...we usually pick them late June early July...my own strawberry plant hasn't yet ripened.

So with all this in mind...I decided to make a birthday card for Canada in our Canadian colours...red and white!

Here is what I came up with...

I made a simple easel card...

DP is Magnolia...

flags are from La La Land...

 I thought this little sweetie in her bathing suit and carrying a sting of flags fit the bill perfectly...she's "Tilda with Summer Flags" from the Pink Lemonade 2014 collection...

coloured with my copics...

mounted on cheesecloth that I inked up with red distress ink...then mounted on white ruffled ribbon...

I paper pieced the flags using the DP...

 "Wrapped Heart Tag" is a Magnolia Doo-hickey...

Happy Birthday is from The Frantic Stamper...

I put the hearts from the flag die cut into the bottle....

 used up some odds and ends to make this bow...

 the strawberry was made using a heart punch and a maple leaf punch...
