Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #136-"Add Flowers and Butterflies"

Good Monday morning my crafty friends!!

Did everyone have a good weekend??!!

Today brings us a new challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society...we'd LOVE for you to "Add Flowers and Butterflies"...of course we also love seeing your "Anything  Goes" cards/projects as well!!

Well last week was all about my favourite colours...SO...this week I tried to go outside the box with colours that I rarely use!

Here is what I came up with...

I went with a simple 6x6 card...

DP is Maja design from the "Enjoying Outdoors" collection...

 I went with this sweet image...you can find her HERE...

coloured with my copics...

surrounded by ruffled tulle...

 closer...

 I fastened the two stick pins through the sentiment ribbon that I stamped using Hero Arts...

topped with satin ribbon and heart charm...finished off with a butterfly...

 the other corner features this stick pin decorated with beads, ribbon, tiny butterfly, shabby chic seam binding and a butterfly charm...

 flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts mounted on string from my stash...

topped with another butterfly...

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #206-"Favourite Colours"

Good Friday morning dear crafty friends!!

YAY Friday...hope you all have special plans for the weekend!!  Well as it's Friday it's time for another Fussy and Fancy post...today we begin a brand new challenge...AND...this time it's my turn to host!!  I just had to choose "Favourite Colours"...I think you all should find that easy...right??!!

Well as I've been struggling lately in the mojo department I decided to go with favs all around...I had one "fairy door" left and thought it would be fun to go with some mixed media and flowers!!  So...

Here is what I came up with...

and how it began..

I stained the door using Rangers Distress Ink "Weathered Wood"...

next I mixed up a paste using Texture Paste, Aged Aqua Frantage and some dark blue glass fragments...

spread it on the wood...topped with some more Frantage and glass pieces then heated with my heat gun...

 the steps were stained using Rangers Distress Inks "Old Paper"...

while still wet I added some Aged Taupe Frantage and heated...

I added some paper flowers, several pink Foamiran flowers and some Cheery Lynne die cut vines...

 finished off with this darling whimsical owl key from my stash...

And that is the final "fairy door" from my stash...YIKES...I really love doing these...time for a shopping trip??!!  Oh and I guess you've discovered that pink and blue are my favourite colours...it was my week for them I guess...lol!!

Midweek Magnolias Challenge #183-"Favourite Colours"

Good Wednesday morning dear friends!

Today at Midweek Magnolias we begin a brand new challenge...and it can't be any easier...one of my favs..."Favourite Colours"!!  Our sponsor is as always Magnolia Sweden.

I'm sure in the winter blues here so I thought I'd make myself another pyramid card to cheer me up...using one of my favourite stamps, fave colours and fave papers!

Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #135-"Winter"

Good Monday morning dear crafty friends!

Today at Scrapbook Stamp Society we begin a brand new challenge...our theme for the next two weeks is "Winter"...OR you can always play our "Anything Goes" option!  

I decided that this one should be for one of my DIL's birthdays...Danielle is a winter baby just like me...well and my hubby...and well our youngest son (who's married to Danielle)...and well I guess our older two sons qualify as winter babies too even though technically it's Spring when their birthdays roll around BUT there's usually still snow so I'm going with winter for us all...lol!!

I used Spellbinders Grand Circles and Grand Scalloped Circles to cut out all pieces...

I added layers of cheesecloth and lace...

lots of bow layers with cheesecloth, medium blue chiffon ribbon and light blue satin ribbon...

topped with a blue crystal/rhinestone heart...

Okay...onto my post for today!  I'm struggling right now in the Mojo department...so...thought I'd do something that I really enjoy...and that is making explosion boxes!  

Now...I have to warn you that I have LOTS of pics...it's really hard to photograph all the elements not to mention a "double" explosion box...YES...I went a little crazy!!  AND I used my favourite colours...lol!!

I'm back "in love" with making my own stick pins...lol!!...

I added beads from my stash and a heart diamanté charm to this crystal stick pin...
