Well my year has certainly been eventful so far!!! It started off with our community mail boxes (they are termed "Super Boxes" in Canada) being broken into...big investigation and then we had carbon monoxide issues on Monday morning...fire department investigates (that was very un-nerving...I had to call 911)...have to shut down the furnace completely on one of the coldest nights so far...we're told we have to replace our six year old furnace...rush out to go to the World Juniors Gold Medal game...a nail biting bit of excitement there and then home to a COLD house...have a new furnace installed Tuesday and that's what's been going on here!!!
So as some soothing therapy I made up two cards this week...the first will be posted tomorrow for a Fussy and Fancy post and this little card just for fun and to add to my stash!!
Over at House of Mouse their current challenge is to use a sketch...well mine started out following the sketch...I thought quite perfectly until I began covering all that up with embellies...now it's really hard to make out the sketch template...lol!!!
Here is a friendship card that I had so much fun putting together...once again I went a little crazy snapping the pics...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
the paper is Teresa Collins...such beautiful thick double sided paper...I used two different papers for an actual four designs...
the paper is Teresa Collins...such beautiful thick double sided paper...I used two different papers for an actual four designs...
this sweet little image is called "Warmth for Winter" HMKR1020...
coloured with distress inks and dusted with Frantage around the edges...
I love doing these Frantage covered buttons!!!!...
you can just see the cheesecloth peaking out that I mounted the image on...
I used another of these new stick pins from The Ribbon Girl...
added heart and key charms (also from The Ribbon Girl), chiffon ribbon, Shabby Seam binding and some bead spacers...
the sentiment is Hero Arts cut out using Spellbinders Large Banners die...
the inside...
this is House of Mouse "Knitted with Love" ER1096...
and this little darling is "Chalky Consequences" HMJR1022...
the sentiment on the blackboard is Hero Arts...
So that is my soothing therapy card...lol!!! I have to admit that I do feel a little less stressed...these sweet little mice are so fun to play with!! I added the sketch inspiration from the House of Mouse challenge below just to see if any of you are able to recognize it on my card...lol!!!
Challenges I will enter:
House of Mouse-Challenge #185 "Anything Goes with Optional Sketch
Gruffies and Guests-Challenge #13 "Buttons and Bows + Option of Anything Goes"
Creative Fingers-Challenge #61 "Anything Goes"
Until tomorrow...thank you for taking the time to stop by!!! Your visits and comments are so very much appreciated!!!
Wow, Beth, you have had a rough year so far! Hope the bad stuff is now behind you. I didn't know you are in Canada or if I did, I forgot! Memory not so good! I'm in Nova Scotia, where are you? Despite the unnerving events, your card is gorgeous! I love the little House Mouse's and all the wonderful details you added. The inside is just as pretty as the outside! Pink is my favourite colour!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your reply, Beth! I am on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, about halfway between Bridgewater and Liverpool, in a very small rural area. I have been to Cape Breton many times and the Cabot Trail is indeed spectacular! Have never been to Ontario though. So nice to know another Canadian crafter! There are a few of us here in blogland!
DeleteSuch a beautiful card Beth, you have chosen such adorable images and pretty pinks, your card is gorgeous inside and out.
ReplyDeleteI hope you soon get your heating sorting out, you must be freezing.

What a cute card, the image is perfect for what you've been going through! I love all of the embellishments you always adorn your cards with, its very special!
ReplyDeleteBeth, that stinks! We had furnace problems just before Christmas, but fortunately it was the motor and even though it wqs 750 dollars, we didn't have to replace the whole furnace. Hope 2015 is on the upswing for you now.
ReplyDeleteYour card is awesome as usual. The embellishments and coloring on the sweet image are lovely. Love all the delicate pink after so much red and green for the holidays. Flowers, gorgeous. Very pretty.
