My first Marvelous Magnolia DT Post-Challenge #92 "Vintage"!!

Good Monday morning dear blogging friends!!

I'm super excited to be here with my first post as a new member of the Marvelous Magnolia Design Team!!!!  Today we begin a new challenge...for the next two weeks we want you to bring out every thing "Vintage"!!  Our wonderful sponsor for our challenge is Stamp and Create where you'll find stamps, dies and many more craft necessities in their on-line store!!

Okay so I have been wanting to work on something special for my "Vintage" friend Dianne...now when I say "Vintage" that doesn't mean that she's old...lol...it just means that we have been friends forever!!!!  Dianne has just finished renovating her craft room so I thought that I would make her a little "dresser" to store some of her embellies in and she just happens to be having a birthday coming up!!!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
I forgot to take a picture of the "naked" dresser before I got to work on it...
I stained it with Ranger Distress Ink-Vintage Photo...
then covered it with Decou-page added tissue paper then another layer of the Decou-page to seal it...
when it was dry I rubbed on some Inka Gold...
okay I may have enlarged this a bit much...lol... but I wanted to show details...
 another angle...
I added a lace "runner", pearl strands, feather cluster, flowers, shabby seam binding, ribbon, a cameo made using molding clay and a mold and a stick pin with crystal/pink glass...
this sweet Tilda is "Christmas Kitchen Tilda" from the Waiting for Christmas 2014 collection...
coloured using just two colours of distress re-inkers...Tea Dye and Tattered Rose...
I wanted to give it more of a sepia appearance...
then framed her with lace/rhinestones...
I made an easel at the back to prop the "photo" up...
 love these "vintage" mirrors...
 close up from the side...
the cameo, ribbon, lace, shabby seam binding and stick pin...
I sewed a shabby seam binding ribbon onto the lace runner when I hemmed it to form a triangle end...
 the back of the "photo"...
the tag is Magnolia and I've written my "Happy Birthday" message to my "Vintage" friend...
the top opens to reveal this sectioned tray...
the bottom drawer opens for more storage (as seen in first pic)...

That completes my very first Marvelous Magnolia DT post!!!  Now please go on over to the Marvelous Magnolia Challenge blog...you have to see the gorgeous creations that my VERY talented team mates have to show you...then it's your turn to inspire us!!

Until next time...thank you for taking the time to stop by!!  Your visits and comments are SO very much appreciated!!!
