"Layer it Up" Midway at Simply Magnolia

Good Sunday morning dear blogging friends!!

It's the midway point at Simply Magnolia for our "Layer It Up" challenge...it's Team Glamour's turn to show you what we came up with!!  Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Ribbons!!!

Last year I left my closest friends "cards" until the last...thinking that "Hey they're my besties so they'll understand if their projects are a little late"...well my two very best friends didn't get theirs until AFTER Christmas...LOL!!!  And YES they were very understanding!!

So this year I have actually finished one of their "cards" for this DT post!!

In my last house we had curved walls and lots of nooks and crannies...perfect for tucking in Christmas trees...I used to put up at least four trees!!  Our family tree was always the traditional Christmas colours but the other trees were decorated in themes/colours that I loved...this combo was always one of my favourites!!

Here is "It's Christmas Time"...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
I used a Tim Holtz clock...layered on alcohol ink, gesso and Frantage...
 side view...
close up of the tags, chiffon and satin ribbons...
the "With Love" tag and two ornament tags are Whimsy stamps...
this is Little Cute Tilda from the Waiting for Christmas 2014 collection...
I have perched her on hellebore flowers...
Tilda with Trumpet...celebrating the "Joys of the Season" with a musical tribute...lol... is from the same collection...
she is mounted on a layer of batting which is covered with Flowersoft Polar White...
in the background (hard to see in this picture) are trees made with dies from the Magnolia Doohickey Club Kit #2 with liquid applique for snow...
the clock back is layered with gesso and glamour dust...
clock handle decorated with ribbon and hellebore flowers...
time piece is Tim Holtz layered with gesso and glamour dust...
side decorated with layers of trees, Magnolia Doohickey pine branches, Martha Stewart pine branches, string of pearls, pink pearls and pink chiffon ribbon knots...

Waiting for Santa!!

Good Monday evening again dear blogging friends...for my "Candy Winner Post" click HERE.

So I have been slowly plugging along with my Christmas card list!!

I have been working on this card for over two weeks...waiting for my new "Waiting for Christmas 2014" order to arrive!!  It finally came and I was able to finish off the inside of the card.  I thought that the Tilda Angel should be looking out the window...she seems to be waiting for Santa in my mind...the sweet little Santa from the new Magnolia collection was the only image that I wanted for this...lol!!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
the card is made using Crealies Create a Card #8 die...
I used Maja paper from the "A Gift for You" 6X6 paper pad...
my Tilda is "Angel of the Year"...sorry can't remember which collection...
she is looking out the Small Grand Madison window by Memory Box...
I put acetate between the windows and added Glamour Dust...
the side steps are decorated with tiny trees from QuicKutz Holly Jolly set...
the rocking horse is from the Magnolia Doohickey Club #2 set...
the stamps are Whimsy Vintage Holiday Gift Tags...
the poinsettia is made from the Magnolia Doohickey Club #2 set also...
I added a crystal snowflake pin, red chiffon ribbon, sparkly mesh and Martha Stewart fern branches...
the tree was cut from a QuicKutz die and then covered with fern branches, decorated with red berry beads, a snowflake and rhinestone...
the inside paper is from my stash...I thought it looked like a night sky...
I added snowflakes dusted with Glamour Dust...
the snowflake border is JoyCraft 6002/2021 dusted with Flower Soft Polar White...
I added rhinestones to the snowflake centers...
"Merry Christmas" is a QuicKutz stamp and cut out with Spellbinders Ribbon Banners...
and this is the sweet "Little Santa" from the new Magnolia "Waiting for Christmas 2014" collection...
the inside of the card finished off with another window frame...
the paper backing the window is also from the Maja "A Gift for You" 6X6 paper pad...

So that is my latest Christmas card!!

Fussy and Fancy Challenge # 127-"Two of a Kind or Pairs"

Good Friday morning dear friends!!

Today we kick off another FUN challenge at Fussy and Fancy...hosted by Millazin who has chosen "Two of a Kind or Pairs" as the theme!!!

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Sentiments Designs!!

I decided to make my Granddaughters' Christmas "card" as they fit right into this challenge because...well as you know they are twins!!

I also decided that it was time for another explosion box...it's been a while...lol!!  They usually put up a small tree in their room so I thought that maybe this could go under it as a decoration/present!!

And once again this is picture HEAVY!!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
ALMOST everything about this project is paired...
the inside of the box is decorated with a fire place (double mantles)...
only one tree...
a "Bear Pair" Poppy & Henry by Crafty Sentiments Designs...
tea light fire surrounded by logs made from Delight crafting clay and coloured with copics...
a pair of tags for my pair of girls...
computer generated sentiment to our "Darling girls"...
two pairs of poinsettias on the mantles, two strings of pearls and two berry clusters...
close up of tree that I made with four sizes of scalloped circles...stacked and attached to a thin dowel then decorated with pairs of rhinestones and berry beads...
only one string of pearls...
 gift...
 second gift...
front with back mirrored with same Maja paper from the "A Gift for You" 6X6 paper pad...
same ribbon, snowflake charm and Memory Box Tree die...
the other two sides are decorated with another paper from the same collection...
the bottom corners are decorated with pine cone/branch die and berry cluster...
all four sides are punched with Martha Stewart snowflake edge/corner punch...
stick pin decorated with beads, ribbon, Christmas tree charm, berry cluster and shabby seam binding...
the Memory Box tree die decorated with tiny red rhinestones...

Midway "BLING IT ON" at Simply Magnolia AND my 100th post!!!!

Good Sunday morning fellow bloggers!!

Hope that everyone has enjoyed a FABULOUS weekend!!

Okay so things have been rather hectic for me of late...computer issues and just life in general!!  I feel that I am pretty much caught up now though so I'm looking forward to getting back into my blogging routine...which I have SO missed...lol!!!

So let's start off with my Team Glamour "Bling it on" DT project for Simply Magnolia...I have known what I wanted to do for this challenge right from the start and was so looking forward to creating it because...well hey I get to use up some of my LOVELY bling...colour those sweet Tildas and keep it for myself!!  I made myself "The Bling Box"!!!

AND I NEED TO WARN YOU...this is picture HEAVY once again...lol!!!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on the first image for a closer view/slideshow...
I started off with a Tim Holtz Configurations Book from the Tim Holtz idea-ology Collection...
covered it with one of my favourite Maja papers from the Sofiero collection...
inked with distress ink, applied Gesso and then wiped down with a baby wipe...
this is Tilda with Dexter the Dragon from the Animal of the Year 2014 collection...
I used my distress inks again...
I always loved working with the distress inks but haven't used them in a while so I figure if I keep practicing eventually I'll get the hang of them again...LOL!!...
sprinkled my beloved Frantage and mounted on white ruffled ribbon...
Sneaky Tilda also from the Animal of the Year collection...
 computer generated "The Bling Box"...
ripped the paper and inserted the opposite side to show through...
Frantaged two buttons and zipper charm...
added beads and ribbon to the stick pin...
added the diamante safety pin/ribbon knot to the lace that runs along the side...
I have been so wanting to use this Diamante Cluster pin but it's so hard to give away...
so I gave it to ME...LOL!!...
added feathers and flowers...
the leaves are just scraps from a die...you never know when you'll use those scraps...
added ribbon/lace around the book outside...
and this is the storage inside for my wonderful bling...
I inked it all, applied Gesso and Maja paper inserts...
I'll need to organize better but you get the idea...
now this is the inside book cover...
YES it's blank...
I need your help...I was just too TIRED (when I finished this at 6:00 a.m.) to think of a witty saying to add to the inside...
IDEAS??? fellow crafters...

NOW in finishing up this MY 100th post I would like to offer blog candy to one random follower (you must be a follower) who leaves a comment on THIS post from today's date until next Saturday when this Simply Magnolia challenge ends!!  I will include any comments made from now until Saturday evening 6:00 p.m. EST.

Here is my 100th post candy...

Okay that's it for me today...DON"T FORGET...I need your help on a witty saying for the inside of "The Bling Box"!!!!  Would love to hear from you!!
