Midway Reminder at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-#233 "Recycle/Re-use"

Good Monday morning dear blogging friends!!

Today marks the midway point of our current challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge...hosted by ME!  I chose "Recycle/Re-use" as my theme in the hopes of cleaning the scraps and odds and ends off my desk BUT you always have the "Anything Goes" option as well!!!  No excuses so come on and join us...details are on our HMFMC blog found HERE!

I have had some light bulb cylinders sitting on my desk for quite a while...I put my most used markers and pens pencils in them...my intentions have been to decorate them but I just haven't gotten around to it SO here's my chance!

Here is what I came up with...

finished container first then some pics along the way...

now here is the journey...

one of the light bulb canisters that's been sitting on my desk just waiting to be "prettied" up...

next was choosing all the scraps from my desk top...

this is the pile that I came up with...

I started by decoupage-ing the yellow tissue onto my canister...

then came the DP paper...sorry no idea what it is cause it's been sitting in the scrap pile for a while... 

next came the shabby seam binding scraps to cover seams when I pieced the paper...

I added lace around the bottom and top to cover up the uneven edges and a drop pearl string to the top...

I added a lone flower that I had made for another project and some leaves from the same...

added some tiny roses that were sitting in my desktop stash and some string remnants...

some shabby yellow seam binding went onto the outer edge of my cut out image...

next a butterfly also from another project...

and finally a bow using both green and yellow seam binding...

 this sweet little guy is "School Supplies" HMCQ08...

And that cleans up another bit of scraps!!!  Now I really hope that you are inspired enough to "use up those scraps"!!!!  Come on over and join us at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!!!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-Challenge #233 "Recycle/Re-use"

Good Monday morning dear crafty friends!

I hope that you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend!!  We had mild temps but it was dreary and foggy...UGGH!!!  Lots of indoor stuff...some crafting but sadly lots of house work...UGGH again!!

Anyway...onto to today's post!  Today we begin a brand new challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge AND I'm your Mousey Hostess!!  I have chosen "Recycle/Re-use" as my theme...in keeping with my quest to clean up my craft room...SO...everything I used was a scrap off my desk...well except for the stamps...LOL!!  This is your chance to get rid of those scraps...boxes...packaging...or anything really that you can use on your project!!  Of course you always have our "Anything Goes" option...SO...no excuses...let's get busy!!!

I also have a stamp set that I will be offering as a prize for this challenge...you just have to enter a card/project onto out House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge to be eligible!!

Here is what I came up with...

I'm showing you the finished card first then some pics I took before I got started and  some taken along the crafty journey...

I grabbed out a pile of co-ordinating DP scraps (Maja Design)...

scrap of card stock for card base...

then some lace scraps...

cheesecloth scraps...

ribbon/seam binding scraps...

scrap of Express-It paper...

and random embellishments...

I didn't use every thing though!!...

 pieced together some scraps...

some I had used for die cuts so went with those...

added pieces of lace to the bottom...

 I had a doily that I had cut in half and not used so added that as a matt for my image...

then I added my coloured image and of course backed it with cheesecloth...

added a cheesecloth bow...

the marshmallows are Liquid Applique (which also sits on my desk)...

this darling image is "Lip Smackin' Relaxin" HMI1016...

And there you have my card made out of scraps...FYI...no new paper was harmed in the process!!

Midweek Magnolias Challenge #156 "Anything Goes with a Mangolia Image"

Good Wednesday morning dear crafty friends!

And how is everyone's week so far??!!  We've had lots of freezing rain...making for some very slippery conditions...a good time to stay in the house and craft right!!

Well I'm still wading through my craft room and "purging"...also finding stuff that I didn't even know that I had!!  Still LOTS to get through...UGH!!...but just maybe I'll find some more hidden treasure...LOL!!!!

Anyway onto to today's post...we begin our second challenge of 2017 at Midweek Magnolias AND it's "Anything Goes with a Magnolia Image"!!

Here is what I came up with...

my card base was made using one of my favourite Go Kreate dies...

and some of my favourite Maja Design papers from the "Vintage Frost Basics" 6x6 paper pad...

I added some film strip, bow and bow w/ribbon/cut outs which are all Joy Craft...

banner is Spellbinders...

"warm hugs" is Stampingbella...

I found this yummy lace in my stash...didn't know that I had it...lol...

then topped it with lace/rhinestones...

I ripped the paper and tucked the complimenting paper under then added this fun zipper...

 this little sweetie is "Tilda with Sock Puffs" from the Aspen Holiday 2016 collection...

coloured with my copics...dusted with Chunky White Frantage and matted on my fav...cheesecloth...

 I couldn't get this one to focus but wanted to show you the yummy lace and embellies...

 the other side...

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-Challenge #232-"New New New!!"

Happy Monday dear crafty friends!

I sure hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend!  We celebrated our youngest son's birthday...our family birthday parade begins...we are birthday heavy at the beginning of the year!!

We are at the midway point in our current House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge...AND...we're welcoming back our fabulous Mousey Sister America after her long absence...America is still settling in the process of moving BUT she's here with us now and we sure are glad to have her back!!!!  America has chosen "New" as her theme for this challenge...of course you have the option of "Anything Goes"...SO...there's no excuse for not joining in the Mousey Fun!!  We have two fabulous House Mouse stamps as prizes and also we'd love for you to consider joining us as a guest Designer for two months...so let's get busy!!!!

Midway Reminder at Simply Magnolia-"Something Old-Something New"

Happy Sunday dear blogging friends!

Well we're half way through the first month of our New Year AND you know what that means...YES...we're half way through our first challenge of the year at Simply Magnolia!  Our theme for this first challenge is "Something Old/Something New"...SUPER easy right??!!

Here is what I came up with...

using papers and scraps from my stash I made a simple 6x6 card...

added a touch of new lace that I got right after Christmas...

I left the inside blank so this can be an emergency card to be completed when needed...

I'm trying to get back into routine...not always easy after all the hula-baloo of Christmas!

Midweek Magnolias Challenge #155-"New Crafty Stash" & Blog Hop Candy Winner!!

Well here we are in the middle of the first week of January!

With the New Year we usually celebrate all things new and that's exactly what we're going to do at Midweek Magnolias for the next two weeks!!  We want to see you use your "new crafty stash"!!  Our sponsor is as always the wonderful Magnolia Sweden!

Now I have been trying to clean out my very large existing stash BUT who can resist a little shopping for ourselves tucked in with all the goodies that we choose for our friends and loved ones at Christmas!!  I didn't receive my newest Maggies until about a week and a half before Christmas and only had time to work with one or two images SO I'm considering that part of my newest stash...then at the end of last week I received two of my on line orders filled with lots of yummy embellishments!!!  Merry (late) Christmas to me and a Happy New Year...lol!!!  And then my copics have been acting up...becoming gummy so I had to rush out and search stores that stock them and hope that I could get the ones that I wanted in time to colour this up!

framed with cheesecloth (new)...which I had a hard time finding...all my usual haunts were out of it...

then I framed this with a strand of my (new) pink pearls...

 these sweet reindeer are also from the Aspen Holiday 2016 collection...

I added tiny rhinestones for their eyes...

added a cheesecloth bow topped with rhinestone circle...

 larger oval matt is framed with ruffled ribbon...which came just in time amongst one of my new orders...
