Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #134 "Valentine"

Good Monday morning dear crafty friends!!

I sure do hope that everyone enjoyed a fun and relaxing weekend!  

Today at Scrapbook Stamp Society we begin our second challenge of 2018...just in time for all your Valentines projects we bring you the theme of "Valentine"...as always you have the option of "Anything Goes" a well...so no excuses all you crafty people!!  We love it when you inspire us!!

Here is what I came up with...

I a Go Kreate die to cut the card base for this easel card...

DP is Maja from the Life In The Country collection...

I chose to work with this darling image...Image #962...

coloured with my copics...

dusted with Shabby White Frantage...

I made this Foamiran flower using the Hear Felt Creations Carnation die...

I cut it in both red and white foam inked using a red oil pastel...not sure that I should have mixed the two colours but it was 3:00 a.m. and I just didn't have the energy to make another..lol!!...

 image stamp is Stampingbella "Morning Glories for Lulu"...
coloured with my copics and dusted with Shabby White Frantage...

the sentiment is Hero Arts and was stamped onto cream chiffon ribbon with Stazon...

I made these Foamiran flowers using a Spellbinders die cut...I was trying to replicate the morning glories...

vines, leaves and butterfly border are all Memory Box dies...

the smaller butterflies are Joy Craft...

inside sentiment is also by Hero Arts...

So for my card today...I have wanted to try the "twist and pop" style card...I first saw this on Davinia Woods blog...Davinia kindly provides a link to a fabulous tutorial by Rina...you can find it HERE!!

I started with a simple 6x6 base...

bow is made with wired ribbon from my stash and topped with 

this sweetie is "Tilda With Summer Pants" from the Pink Lemonade 2014 collection...
coloured with my copics...
I matted her on a chipboard piece that I distressed with Rangers Shabby Shutters...

the cherries were stamped with one of the fruit stamps from the Pink Lemonade collection...
coloured with my copics and finished off with tiny embroidery floss bows...

Midweek Magnolias Challenge #180-"Anything Goes"

Good morning dear blogging friends!!

Welcome to Midweek Magnolias first post of 2018!!!  I hope that everyone enjoyed the most wonderful holidays and that this new year is starting off well!!

We begin 2018 off with everyone's fav..."Anything Goes"...just remember that you need to feature a Magnolia image/die cut or paper!!  As always our sponsor is Magnolia Sweden!

So in the past I've tried to get ahead in my DT work but sadly that particular resolution has never stuck...LOL!!...WELL that is until now!!!  The card I'm showing you today was actually for my youngest grandson's birthday on December 11th...SO...YAY ME...it's a start right??   

Another one of my resolutions was to try to get over my FEAR of CAS cards...I have such a hard time leaving a card "naked"...BUT...admire those of you who have mastered this theme...KUDOS to you all!!  Don't get me wrong...when I see someone else's CAS card I always sigh with envy and admire their talent!  

My darling little Max turned three...he LOVES walking around saying "Hi yah"...in ninja style...SO...

Here is what I came up with...

I made a simple 6X6 card...

instead of using DP I stamped the image onto black card stock using white ink...

I couldn't resist using the cheesecloth...

"Happy Birthday" is Hero Arts...

I added two black buttons from my stash... 

 this sweet image is "Ninja Edwin" from the Sakura 2015 collection...

I stamped an image on black card stock using embossing ink and clear embossing powder...

Guest Designer for Deep Oceans Challenge Blog Challenge #172-"Something New"

Happy New Year dear blogging friends!!

Welcome to my first post of 2018!

I sure hope that everyone enjoyed their time with family and friends!

I have the honour of starting this new crafting year as a Guest Designer for Deep Oceans Challenge Blog!  The theme is "Something New"...what a great way to start the year!!

So I decided to experiment/dabble with some techniques and new mediums that I got for Christmas!  I decided to create a "treasure box" for my friend Dianne using a new digi that I received...

Here is what I came up with...

 I started by painting a Graphic 45 book box with green acrylic paint...

next I added some Crackle Texture Paste (new to my stash) to two corners and dusted with Aged Rose Frantage...

next came cheesecloth attached with Decoupage...

in the bottom corner I added some chipboard key/lock forms (new to my stash) that were painted with silver metallic paint...

the keys before and after...

after adding a tiny ornamental tube filled with pink and green beads tied with a string/pink satin ribbon I adhered this new cream burlap ribbon with this gloss gel (new to my stash)...

then I had fun adding some white/pink roses...leaves and vines cut using  Memory Box die and some string/pink stain ribbon...

I added some beads to the string attaching a key charm...

topped with a tiny pink rose bud and leaf...
