House Mouse and Friends-Challenge #196 "Holidays"!!

I'm here today to tell you about House Mouse and Friends newest challenge...our lovely and super talented hostess is Heather and she has chosen "Holidays" as her theme!!!  As always you have the "Anything Goes" option!! 

Now I have to tell you a story in order for you to understand how my card fits the "Holiday" theme...my Grandson...well actually my twin Granddaughters as well...love to jump on beds!!  Now I'm sure you've heard all the horror stories about kids getting hurt while jumping on beds...so to try to get Quinn to stop jumping on beds my Son and DIL told him that the only beds he was allowed to jump on were hotel beds...lol...now when is the most common time we stay in a hotel...on holidays of course!!!

Well Calla and Mia are taking a trip with their parents and...yes...they will be staying in a hotel...so I made them a little card to pop some money in for their "Holiday"!  I thought that this sweet image fit the bill perfectly!!

Here is what I came up with...

I made a card shaped like a pocket...

crocheted lace trim is from Live and Love Crafts...

inside is the reverse side of the paper...

on the sides are pockets made to slip some money into with the girls' names (computer generated) on them...

Midway Reminder at Simply Magnolia-"CAS or Fully Loaded"!!

Hello again dear blogging friends!

I'm back with my second post of the day...for my Totally Tilda and Friends post from earlier this morning please go HERE!!

This time I'm here to remind you that you still have until Saturday June 13th at noon (British time) to enter our current challenge at Simply Magnolia!!  Team Glamour's turn with our "CAS or Fully Loaded" projects...then it's up to you!!  The fabulous prize for this challenge is a GDT spot...now how exciting is that!!!

Okay...GULP...well in my current quest to step outside of my comfort zone...I went with...YES...a CAS card!!!  I SO admire all the talented bloggers out in blogland that whip up a CAS card so beautifully!!!!!  For me it is so hard not to add the frills, lace, ribbon, buttons...etc... and most of all my BELOVED Frantage...YIKES!!!  When I see other's CAS cards I say to my self "Wow...that looks fabulous!"...looking at mine I think "Hmm...looks NAKED to me!!!"

Okay it's time to reveal the CAS card!

So this started out as my Grandson Quinn's birthday card...then I'm colouring away and thinking hey "How did this hair get brown??!!"...well now...can't give this to Q-man because he's blonde...lol!!  So I guess I have a male birthday card for my stash!!

Midweek Magnolias-Challenge #115"Fun in the Sun"!!

Happy Wednesday dear blogging friends!!

Well it's the middle of the week and time for another super fun challenge over at Midweek Magnolias!!  For the next two weeks we want you to have "Fun in the Sun"...now don't we all enjoy the summer sunshine!  Our most wonderful sponsor is as always Magnolia Sweden!!

I have to tell you that the last few days here haven't really felt like summer...Saturday started off sunny and humid then it poured around 11:00 a.m. right in the middle of our garage sale...UGH!!!  What a scramble it was carting all that lovely "stuff" into the garage...I'm tellin' ya that's the last time THIS GIRL does a garage sale!!!!!  On the up side was we had a FUN and FABULOUS day with our kids and Grandkiddies...Calla, Mia and Quinn spent hours in the pool!!  Well it's been down hill from there weather wise so hoping that along with this challenge will come the weather that should go along with it!!

my base and matts were cut out using Spellbinders Grand Scallop Circles...
