House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #211-"Zodiac Sign Connection"

Well happy Monday to you all dear blogging friends!!

And how was everyone's weekend?

We had a busy weekend here...out for dinner both Friday (and the hockey game as well) and Saturday night...so much for trying to watch the weight...lol!!!  Although I did make healthy choices AND no dessert!

Okay onto the task at hand!  Today we begin a fascinating new challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge!!  Our fabulously talented Heather is our hostess for the next two weeks and she has chosen "Zodiac Sign Connection" as her theme...so intriguing with endless possibilities...wait till you see what my talented Mousey Sisters has in store for you!!  As always you have the "Anything Goes" option.

So starting this month we have a parade of birthdays in our family...starting with my youngest Son Nicholas...who just had his birthday on January 12th...therefore he's a Capricorn!

Here is what I came up with...

I went with a simple 6X6 card...

printed out some Zodiac animals from the internet onto cardstock...



I think this image is so fitting for BDay cards...it's called ""Pop" -ular Fun" HMUR1024...

coloured with my copics...

balloons highlighted with Glossy Accents...

birthday sentiment is LOTV...

the inside...

the DP is so old...from my stash...and...well...was simply "perfect" for my Nicholas' card...lol...

I cut out the individual Zodiac signs and found them too plain so I added Frantage of course...just a sprinkle...then added the larger Capricorn sign in the middle...

 

And there you have my "Zodiac Sign Connection" card...just wait till you see the way my Mousey Sisters interpreted this theme!!

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #155-"Fashion"

Good Friday morning dear blogging friends!!

Today at Fussy and Fancy we begin our first challenge of 2016!!!  Our hostess for the next two weeks is our fabulous Tone...who has chosen "Fashion" as her theme!  Our sponsor for this challenge is Sweet Lilac Flowers! 

I had planned to add to my Tilda Town with this challenge but I just didn't get the time to complete my project so I had to come up with another option...lol!

Here is what I came up with...

I added a jeweled brooch, flowers, lace, cheesecloth, feathers and hanger and scissor charms...

 I took an old Great Impressions stamps J83...stamped it on black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder...

 now how cool is this Tim Holtz paper...

it's a pattern and design for a dress!!...

Midweek Magnolias Challenge #129-"New Crafty Stash"

Good Wednesday morning dear crafty friends!

Welcome to the first challenge of 2016 at Midweek Magnolias!!!  We are so looking forward to seeing what you received for Christmas...SO..."New Crafty Stash" is our theme for the next two weeks!  As always our most wonderful sponsor is Magnolia Sweden!

I couldn't wait to use my new wooden "Fairy Door" and some new embellies!!

Here is what I came up with...

I started by coating the walk and bricks with texture paste and then adding...YES OF COURSE...Frantage...walkway is Aged Silver and brick is Aged Rose...

the door was painted with Pumice Stone distress ink and then wiped down with a baby wipe to lighten it up a bit...

 I absolutely LOVE this owl key charm...

So that is my "Fairy Door"...I can't wait to do another one!!!  You can hang them on the wall or I could make it into a piece for my Tilda Town!  Now time to take a trip over to Midweek Magnolias to check out the "new stashes" of my wonderful teamies!!!

Quinn will be taking skiing lessons this year so I couldn't resist using this sweet stamp for his Christmas door hanger PLUS it fit perfectly with Dorte's theme...

the door hanger is painted with a pale blue acrylic then dusted with Chunky White Frantage...
I added Snow Tex and Glamour Dust to the bark heart and the pine cones...

this darling stamp is "Downhill Delight" HMLR1030...
