Fussy and Fancy Challenge #159-"Things with Wings"

Good Friday morning dear blogging friends!!

Today we begin a brand new challenge at Fussy and Fancy!  Our hostess for the next two weeks is our wonderful Annie who has chosen "Things with Wings" as her theme!!  Our sponsor is Sweet Lilac Flowers!

I've been wanting to do this wooden chest that I have had for a while so I thought "Let's go a little Springy and add flowers and butterflies!"  Well this didn't turn out exactly as I had in mind...when I went to get products that I was positive that I had I just couldn't find them...time to sort out the craft room so that I know where everything is!!

Here is what I came up with...

now this was very hard to photograph because of the size...
I couldn't fit it in the area that I usually take my pics in and the lighting where I finally took the pictures wasn't that great...

 the unadorned chest...

 I started by inking it up with "Pumice Stone" Distress Ink...

added some texture paste and Shabby Taupe Frantage...

then I sponged on some alcohol inks and topped with a pearlizer...

 in this arrangement added flowers to some moss and natural fibers...

next came a butterfly..

 a tag made using alcohol inks...

I added shabby seam binding, pearls strand and a butterfly...

 bottom corner...

 

And that is my chest finished!!  I think that I'll use it to store some of my lace!  Now I know that my talented Fussy and Fancy Sisters would love for you to pay them a visit!

Midweek Magnolias Challenge #133-"Mother's Day or Special Lady"

Good Wednesday morning dear blogging friends!!

Well we are into March and for us anyway it has "come in like a lion" with our biggest snow storm of this winter to date...UGH!!!!...hope this means that it will "go out like a lamb"!!  We can only hope!

Anyway...onto to today's post!  We begin a brand new challenge today at Midweek Magnolias...we would love to see a card or project honouring "Mother's Day or Special Lady"!!  Our most wonderful sponsor is Magnolia Sweden!

I decided to make my Mom a little gift set of handmade cards incased in an acrylic case that I recycled from some vitamin bottles!  I have made up some little cards...some blank others that say "Thank You" on them so that Mom has a bit of a stash of her own!

Here is what I came up with...

I covered the acrylic case with black lace...

added some gorgeous lace trim from Live and Love Crafts...

and then topped that with some flower/leaf trim from my stash...

dusted with Shabby Aqua Frantage...

DP is a scrap from my stash...

on the top is a lace bow decorated with flowers from my stash...

"Happy Mother's Day" is Hero Arts...

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge-#214 "Easter"

Good Monday morning dear bogging friends!!

And how was everyone's weekend??!!  We had some much needed sun along with some warmer temps...so all in all a nice weekend!

Today at House Mouse and Friends we begin a brand new challenge with Lorraine as our talented hostess for the next two weeks...Lols has chosen "Easter" as her theme!!!  As always you have the option of "Anything Goes"!

So I decided to start working on the Grandkiddies Easter projects and thought a little basket would serve both as a card and something to put some goodies in...I started with Sir Quinn's!

Here is what I came up with...

I used Sizzix #559897 for the basket...

DP (inside and outside) and from "Riverbank Revels" by Trimcraft...

decorated it with a band of distressed cheesecloth and knots...

 this sweet mouse is "Don't Spill the Beans" HMIR1012...

coloured with my copics...

jelly beans are accents with Glossy Accents...

I cut the stamp out and re-attached the egg/jelly beans closer to the mouse/egg...

"Happy Easter" is Hero Arts...

Midway Reminder at Midweek Magnolias-Challenge #132 "Anything Goes with a Magnolia Image"

Well it's almost the end of February...I SO hope that Spring is on it's way!!  Our weather is simply bazaar...freezing cold then nice and warm...snow then rain then back to snow...UGH!!!

Okay onto the task at hand...today marks the midway point at our Midweek Magnolias "Anything Goes with a Magnolia Image" challenge AND as always we have the wonderful Magnolia Sweden as our sponsor!!

I have made a card for a fellow Pisces...I just need to pop it in the mail!!

I have used the frame die from the Magnolia Vintage Box #1 for the card base...I simply adore this shape...

DP is Maja Design from the "Enjoying Outdoors" 6X6 paper pad...

I matted Tilda on cheesecloth that I inked up in blue...

 this is sweet little "Pisces Tilda" from the Zodiac 2014 collection...

coloured with my distress inks...

accented with liquid pearls and Frantage... 

 "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" is Hero Arts stamped on banner using Spellbinders Small Banners...

 the butterflies, leaves and flower dies are from the same Vintage Box as well as part of the floral spray...

Midway Reminder at Simply Magnolia-"CAS or Fully Loaded (optional add red)"

Happy Sunday crafty friends...I hope that you're having a wonderful weekend!!

Today at Simply Magnolia it's Team Glamour's turn to show you what we've created for the midway point in our "CAS or Fully Loaded (optional add red)" challenge!  And remember that Nicola has a fabulous "mystery" prize for one lucky winner...so come on over and join us!! 

Okay so I have gone totally out of my comfort zone...YIKES!!  I chose the CAS option...what was I thinking...this is such a challenge for me as I so love my embellies!  I have SO much RESPECT and ADMIRATION for those who do CAS so well!

I went with a simple 6X6 card...

 my Edwin was sewn onto the back of the red matt then attached to the white card base...

stamped "birthday boy" on red matt...

add a button and done...YIKES AGAIN!!...

Midway Reminder at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia-Challenge #130 "Use a Heart"

Happy Valentines Day to all my blogging friends!!

I've been working on the Valentines for my Grandkiddies...last year I did a bow card for Miss Calla for Easter and Miss Mia got a plainer one so I decided to do a Valentine bow card for darling Mia!  I SO love using these templates from Sandra's Scrapshop not to mention all the fabulous goodies from Live and Love Crafts!

Here is what I came up with...

I added pink ruffled ribbon around edges...

"My Sweet Valentine" is computer generated and cut out using Spellbinders Small Banners...

I randomly added beige pearl strings...

the bow corners are finished off with brown pearls...

I used "Christmas Heart Tilda" from the A Lovely Christmas 2015 collection...

coloured with my copics...

dusted with Shabby Pink Frantage and framed with rhinestone lace...

I added a stick pin with key and lock charms...stuck through lace bow...

 at the bottom I threaded the white ribbon through a diamante heart buckle then added a key charm...
