Marvelous Magnolia April Challenge-"Anything Goes"

Hello again dear crafty friends! 

Welcome to my second post of the day...it's been a busy weekend!!!  Today we begin a brand new challenge at Marvelous Magnolia...our theme as always is the super simple "Anything Goes"!!

I love working with some of the older Easter Maggies...this one is one of my favs!

Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia Challenge #157-"Spring Flowers"

Happy Easter dear friends!!

I hope that everyone is enjoying time with family and friends!

For us Easter is taking a back seat this year as our eldest son turned 40 yesterday...YIKES...I have a 40 year old??...how is that possible??!!  AND our second son turns 37 today...AGAIN how is this possible...LOL??!!

We celebrated by taking our three sons, their wives and three of their long time (30+ years) friends (and their spouses spouses) to the Toronto Maple Leaf game last night...a nice lite dinner before...some celebrating after the game and then spent the night in Toronto at a hotel...finished off with a brunch this morning!! 

Okay...WELL...onto the reason I'm here...today we begin a brand new challenge at Lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia...for the month of April we'd love for you to inspire us with your "Spring Flowers" creations...our sponsor for they month is the fabulous Noor Design!!

Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #137-"Easter"

Good Monday morning dear friends!

Today we begin a brand new challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society...for the next two weeks we'd love for you to show us some of your Easter creations...of course you have the option of "Anything Goes" as well!!

I finally got to work a bit in the craft room...still upside down and can't find things but at least the walls are almost done and it's not freezing down there!!  I'll post some pics when all is done!

Here is what I came up with...

I surrounded the image with some trim that I found while sorting then mounted it all on cheesecloth...

 this little darling is called "Little Ducky Bunny"

accented with Glossy Accents...and oooppps I had a bit of a mishap on the eyes...I put too much on and was cloudy then when I went to take it off it left threads...YIKES...all this when the card was completely finished...UGH!!...

Craft Room Woes!!

Good morning dear friends!

This is where I'd usually post for Midweek Magnolias...BUT I'm in a bit of a mess here...I hope that you will pay my talented teamies a visit though!!

We knew that we had some more water issues but NOT as bad as what it turned out to be!! I had a desk/shelf supply area against the one wall...I could just swivel my chair between my desk and the shelves where the supplies that I used most were right at hand...when we moved everything away to take the wall down there was MOLD...YIKES!!!  I had to throw out some shelves AND supplies 😢!!

And this is the state of my desk/shelves/supplies...

 with more around the corner in the other part of my craft room where the outer wall needs to come down as well...

I'll be trying to get things done amongst the chaos but right now it's too cold down there without the insulation as winter has decided to come back after the lovely early thaw that we had...UGH!!!

Any way I have BIG plans for a nice and organized new area!!!

Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #136-"Add Flowers and Butterflies"

Good Monday morning my crafty friends!!

Did everyone have a good weekend??!!

Today brings us a new challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society...we'd LOVE for you to "Add Flowers and Butterflies"...of course we also love seeing your "Anything  Goes" cards/projects as well!!

Well last week was all about my favourite colours...SO...this week I tried to go outside the box with colours that I rarely use!

Here is what I came up with...

I went with a simple 6x6 card...

surrounded by ruffled tulle...

 I fastened the two stick pins through the sentiment ribbon that I stamped using Hero Arts...

topped with satin ribbon and heart charm...finished off with a butterfly...

 the other corner features this stick pin decorated with beads, ribbon, tiny butterfly, shabby chic seam binding and a butterfly charm...

 flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts mounted on string from my stash...

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #206-"Favourite Colours"

Good Friday morning dear crafty friends!!

YAY Friday...hope you all have special plans for the weekend!!  Well as it's Friday it's time for another Fussy and Fancy post...today we begin a brand new challenge...AND...this time it's my turn to host!!  I just had to choose "Favourite Colours"...I think you all should find that easy...right??!!

Well as I've been struggling lately in the mojo department I decided to go with favs all around...I had one "fairy door" left and thought it would be fun to go with some mixed media and flowers!!  So...

Here is what I came up with...

my "fairy door" completed...

and how it began..

I stained the door using Rangers Distress Ink "Weathered Wood"...

next I mixed up a paste using Texture Paste, Aged Aqua Frantage and some dark blue glass fragments...

spread it on the wood...topped with some more Frantage and glass pieces then heated with my heat gun...

 the steps were stained using Rangers Distress Inks "Old Paper"...

while still wet I added some Aged Taupe Frantage and heated...

I added some paper flowers, several pink Foamiran flowers and some Cheery Lynne die cut vines...

 finished off with this darling whimsical owl key from my stash...

And that is the final "fairy door" from my stash...YIKES...I really love doing these...time for a shopping trip??!!  Oh and I guess you've discovered that pink and blue are my favourite colours...it was my week for them I guess...lol!!
